Annual Arbor Day Tree Planting at Blakehurst
The annual Arbor Day tree planting at Blakehurst retirement community in Towson, MD is a special occasion for nature lovers and tree huggers to gather and celebrate the beauty that exists all around us. A rain delay and an overzealous tree planter didn’t get in the way of Blakehurst residents and staff gathering for an educational experience and the planting of a beautiful Weeping Beech tree at the front of the stately 40-acre Blakehurst campus.
Residents Judy Van Dyke and Mac Plant (yes, a perfect name for a nature lover) talked about many of the specimen trees that could be seen from the event site, along with paying homage to the previous Weeping Beech tree that stood in the same spot as the day’s planting. Homemade cookies, fresh lemonade, and Blakehurst’s very own Canine Companion Dog “Tavis” joined the crowd along with other furry friends.
